Polly’s artistic career incorporates different areas of interest. Her practice spans performance, painting, printmaking, installation, photography and dance.
She has worked as an illustrator for a range of clients.
Since 2000 her work focused on painting on a domestic scale- mainly figurative in oils. Colour, texture and a visceral use of paint are evident in these paintings.
Newer pieces moved into the area of ambiguous abstraction- very large acrylic works on paper.
Polly collaborates with artists from other disciplines.
Enrolling on Amy Voris’s class at the Laban led to her becoming part of the dance group Sentient Dogs. She has performed at the Siobhan Davies Studio. The sense of ‘performance’ is reflected in her current painting.
In 2010 she commenced an MA in Fine Art at the City and Guilds of London Art School that led to gallery based art projects, developing larger scale abstracted paintings and installations.
